Milwaukee Brewers @ San Francisco Giants (game 1)

Today I walked around Fisherman's Wharf, with some sitting and looking at views.  I also booked a ticket for the game in the evening,   It seems ever such a long time since I've watched a baseball game, yet it was only 3 days ago.

I wore my hoodie again, as even before I left the hotel, it was starting to get chilly and there was a feel of rain in the air, although it never did actually rain.  It was another unusual start time of 6.45pm, rather than the more traditional 7.05pm, which I thought explained how few people were there at the start of the game.  The crowd did grow, but not by much - particularly in the club level, there were plenty of unused seats (not many on the website, so it's people who just aren't going to the game).

I was in the front row of my section, and less than half the seats were occupied.

The Giants are likely out of contention this year, which is probably the reason.

As the visiting team, Milwaukee bat first - and they got a hit on the first pitch of the game, going on to score two runs.  Although the Giants managed to get one back in their half, the teams traded one more run each to leave the final score 3-2.

I'd had dinner earlier on at Boudin Bakery, so I didn't need anything more to eat - but I did have a coffee.  They were selling a lot of hot drinks this evening!

I am hearing a lot more British accents than usual everywhere as I go to games and around the city.  I was able to help one couple on the packed platform after the game who were unsure whether the train that had arrived was the correct train they needed to get to their hotel (the answer being that you get on the first thing that comes     at the ballpark and then sort it out at Embarcadero, where all the lines go through)

I went back to Powell Street to see if there was a queue for the cable car, but there wasn't - it was so deserted, I wondered if there was a problem and it wasn't running, but it was running, so I got back to my hotel more quickly than I expected.
