Milwaukee Brewers @ San Francisco Giants (game 3)

Thursday's game was the final game of the three game series.

San Francisco clearly used up all their runs yesterday as they didn't score any.  Milwaukee didn't score any either until the 7th inning, when Doval came on to pitch and walked somebody, then over the course of pitching to the next two batters, threw three wild pitches that got away from the catcher, letting the runner advance each time until he scored the first run of the game.

The third base umpire CB Bucknor got hit by a sharply hit ball down the third base line.  The 1st/3rd base umpires always stand in foul territory, so that if the ball does hit them, it isn't affecting the game.  He was trying to get out of the way, but it went very quickly.  He had the plate last night, and during the course of one of San Francisco's big innings he struggled to get out of the way and pretty much tackled a baserunner coming down the line!  Fortunately, the runner still made it to the plate and scored.  If he'd been out, it would have stayed that way, as it's up to the runner to avoid the umpire!
