After all the messing around earlier in the day, it was a relief to get to the ballpark for this Saturday evening game.
The Padres started off well again, scoring 1 in the top of the 1st inning. It was enough. They went on to finish 8-0.
So that's three games in a row now that the Giants haven't scored any runs at all, and they are mathematically eliminated from winning the division. They had already been realistically eliminated some time ago.
After the game, I finally made it to EPIC Steak for dinner. The steak tartare and the main steak were both excellent. When I made the booking originally, I'd requested an outside table next to the path by the water - they asked if I still wanted that now it was so cold outside, and I was happy to stay inside. I hadn't realised that they actually had an upstairs area too, which was much quieter than the main area downstairs, which was nice.
I walked all the way back to my hotel along the waterfront, which takes just about an hour, rather than taking the cable car or the normal bus or the normal bus substituting for the streetcar.
